Biography

I’m really glad you are checking out my site. I hope you find it a place where we can share a laugh, see something in a new way, grow our knowledge or just take a break together from the stuff that this world can throw at us. If you’ve got a cup of coffee or a diet Dr. Pepper in your hand, you can be sure that I am likely on the other side of the computer screen doing the same.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 children. Our oldest son, Cooper has autism. I am the President of Red Giraffe Marketing and Co-founder of For the Sake of ONE Ministries. I love to write, read, take pictures, go for a run and play and watch most sports; especially if Penn State (my Alma mater) is involved! Most of all, I enjoy sitting in a friend’s kitchen with a good cup of coffee.
My most important “title” is disciple of Jesus. I love God and seek to live my life in a way that brings Him glory. About 12 years ago, my husband and I realized we can’t make it through this life on our own strength – and were never intended to. We committed to doing it God’s way and we rely on Him daily for strength, wisdom, the power to love others and provision of our needs.
Between the ages of 3 and 20 I spent countless hours training as an elite level athlete with dreams of Olympic gold so close I could touch them. Gymnastics, a sport that dictated self-discipline, obedience, strength and tenacity, shaped my character and values.
I spent many childhood hours writing plays and short stories filled with heroines who see their dreams realized and cleverly outwit their oppressors. In my early grown-up years, I found a talent for writing training courses and procedural documentation on complex subjects, like mechanical engineering. As interesting as this was, I have turned my writing towards more fulfilling and inspirational topics.
I free-lance write articles for newspaper and magazine publication. This year, my dear friend Donna Lowe and I co-authored a book titled Radical Love…Forever Changed and I have more writing in progress. Revival Nation Publishing is publishing Radical Love and our book will be released this summer. We are in process of writing a study guide to accompany our book, making it ideal for small group study and book clubs.
I enjoy presenting truth in a simple way. Writing about finding the joy in life that accompanies the world of autism is one I embrace. I seek to inspire, in any small way, parents who are facing what seems insurmountable.
My blog posts provide insight into the life lessons I learn as I navigate my way through raising our kids, facing the challenges of autism, running a business and a ministry, while keeping my eyes looking heavenward. I welcome your comments and feedback.
As I continue to work on my books; excerpts and info will also be posted on this site.
Taking direction from 1 John 1, verse 4, I write so that my JOY may be complete.
