Tonight was a memorable night for me. I made tilapia filets for dinner. Nothing fancy, just boneless fish filets with a smidge of EVOO and butter. I served them with corn, carrots and bread. (I made rice too, but that didn’t work out so well) My sweet Cooper, whose diet consists mainly of pizza and hamburgers, ate his whole plate full!! Lately he has been extremely easy going about trying whatever is on his plate at suppertime. He ate a green bean two weeks ago. (Just one, but it’s a start) He ate some pork last week. On Sunday he ate a giant bowl of chili. And now fish!?
We haven’t been making a big deal out of putting the new stuff in front of him. We’re just setting it out there. When he says, “No Mom, I want pizza.” My reply is, “First eat this, then you can have pizza.” And he gobbles it up. He hasn’t really wanted the pizza afterwards, I think it is out of habit that he asks for it.
I am going to dust off my shelf – I am sure that the mother-of-the-year plaque will be mine this year!
P.S. My Bennie ate his whole plate too and wanted more. Kacey said, “Yukky, Mommie!” and threw hers under the table. You can’t win them all.
